After serving as a Police Constable for nearly six years, the decision was made to pull the pin on uniformed life and pursue comedy full-time. The arsenal of stories documented prior to the departmental departure would prove to serve as the perfect fuel for the comedic fires found burning in "En Route." After successfully auditioning for Joe Flaherty (of Second City fame), a scholastic career was launched in the field of comedy writing and performance. Under the watchful tutelage of SNL alumna Robin Duke and other such dignitaries, the arts of stand-up, sketch writing and shtick (physical comedy) were honed to new levels of success. With a host of past careers that include titles such as expert pawn broker, big-league automotive technical editor and still aspiring minor league hockey player, Joel has quite possibly seen it all. The most grand of all occupations held was the latest one where he donned the blue uniform. This endeavor sealed the deal and ultimately lead to the culmination of life experiences that are now being presented in a radically different sitcom entitled "En Route." The stories and concepts found within are based upon the observations, first-hand experiences and cruiser-born day dreams that were had during this six year window of madness.

Matt St. Amand

TV is a medium that spoke to me even before I could speak. Ever since I acquired the inclination and ability to change the channel, I have done so, becoming a student and aficionado of the classic TV shows that shaped our popular culture: The Twilight Zone, All in the Family, M*A*S*H, Happy Days, The Bob Newhart Show, In Search Of… and Barney Miller, right up to contemporary programs, such as Mr. Show, Weeds, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, The Shield, Six Feet Under, 24, Deadwood, The Tudors, Rome and Madmen.

I have taken these decades of wakeful, ravenous viewership—and everything that enthralled, entranced and entertained me about TV—and precipitated those experiences into my stories, scripts, novels and plays.
